Meeting was called to order at 7:04 PM

Consent Agenda:

  • Approval of General Membership Meeting minutes from November,, 2021.
  • Approval of the membership report.
  • Approval of the financial report.
  • Approval of legal fees.
  • Approval of two contracts covering members at the Bloomberg Industry Group
  • Approval of the following bargaining teams:
    • Local Progress: Kara Sheehan, Chad Radock, and Aparna Raj.
    • Student Action with Farmworkers: Joanna Welborn, Ramon Zepeda Ramos and Victoria Nwankudu.

Elise Bryant moved to accept the consent agenda, seconded by Don Greisheimer. Motion Carries.

Staff Reports:

Cet Parks requests discretionary authority to file an unfair labor practice with the NLRB to protect the jurisdiction of the America Voters unit. Don Griesheimer moved, seconded by Mark Gruenberg. Motion Carries.

The leadership at the National Association of Social Workers requested discretionary authority to arbitrate return to office policies. Mark Gruenberg moved, seconded by Grace Sheedy. Motion Carries.

Cet Parks requests retroactive authority to arbitrate a grievance regarding a written warning issued to [redacted] at Southern Poverty Law Center. Grace Sheedy moved, seconded by Mark Gruenberg. Motion Carries.

Communications Committee:

Grace Sheedy presented the local’s new logo and provided an update on the communication’s efforts towards developing a new style guide and designing new merchandise to reflect the new brand. Mackenzie Foy and Joe Yerardi are leading the effort to design and purchase merchandise. Sheedy also discussed efforts to improve communication with members and develop additional training and marketing material to help with organizing.

New Business:

Dan Gabor nominated Allison Petonic to fill former president Fatima Hussein’s seat on the Executive Council vacancy. Pratheek Rebala moved, seconded by Samantha Trueblood. Motion Carries.

Timotheus Fitzgerald discussed a training opportunity organized by CWA’s civil rights and equities committee as part of the National Day of training.

David DeJesus provided a report on the African Americans in Union Leadership conference.
