Radio Free Asia is a private, nonprofit corporation that broadcasts news and information to listeners in Asian countries where full, accurate, and timely news reports are unavailable.
About 130 editors, reporters, technicians and others are protected by a contract that is bargained and enforced by the Washington-Baltimore Newspaper Guild. The WBNG unit was organized at RFA in 2003.
The current contract was signed in 2010, with an extension through Jan. 31, 2015, ratified in October 2013.
