Competition Includes Honors for ‘Guild Service’ by WBNG Members in 2016
“May Day!” “May Day!”
No, it’s not a call for emergency aid. It’s a call for you to submit entries to the Washington-Baltimore Newspaper Guild’s Front Page Awards and Guild Service Awards competition. And May Day is the deadline.
The Front Page Awards honor the “best of the best” in writing, photography, commentary, graphics and union campaigns, all created by workers in WBNG-covered units in calendar-year 2016. Former workers can enter, too. The point is: If you created work that was published in a print medium and/or posted on your employer’s website, it’s eligible for an award – and so are you.
And remember, folks, it’s our members recognizing the great work of our members … SO GET THOSE ENTRIES IN!
The deadline is easy to remember: Entries should be postmarked or hand-delivered to the WBNG office, 1225 Eye Street NW, Washington, DC 20005, by May 1, 2017. An entry form should be included with each submission. Please specify the category in which each entry is being submitted, and feel free to enter the same submission in more than one category.
Here are the categories:
