Norine Schiller is a journalist with 30 years of writing and editing experience, including 11 years at The Baltimore Sun and seven years each at two Connecticut newspapers, The Hartford Courant and The New Haven Register. As a copy editor, she wrote when she chose to, rather than on assignment. This means she usually wrote stories that were more memoir than reported pieces. For the past three years, she has been exploring her family tree, both in Baltimore and in Palermo, Sicily, and working closely with her father, who was born in 1920, to compile his memoirs, including his time in World War II and his childhood in the Hampden neighborhood.
