Beth Hughes

Beth Hughes worked for more than 17 years as a slot editor and copy editor at The Sun. This was the second mass layoff from a newspaper in which she has been involved: She arrived at The Sun a few weeks after being laid off as news editor at The Prince George's Journal in Lanham, Md., where she worked from 1983 to 1991. An Atlanta native, she earned a master's degree in journalism from the University of Missouri in 1983 and a bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia in 1981.

Beth served as one of two copy editors for this site.
