Phyllis Brill

A Baltimore native, Phyllis Brill got her first taste of journalism during brief stints at The Cleveland Plain Dealer and The Toledo Blade. On returning to the East, she dabbled in public relations before ultimately landing at The Baltimore Sun. Her three-decade career there — about evenly split between the now-defunct Evening Sun and The Sun — began as a copy editor. She became a feature writer, feature sections editor and news reporter before returning to copy editing on the news desk.  She has a bachelor’s degree from Ohio Wesleyan University and a master’s degree from the Johns Hopkins University.

She contributed her recollections of lighthearted moments on The Evening Sun and was one of the initial content editors on the site.
